Calendine decides what you eat and when, by reading your calendar and your goals. That means we handle information about your body, your household, and your working day. This policy sets out exactly what we collect, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.
Account identity. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive a stable identifier for you at that provider, and your email address if you let the provider share it. We store the identifier and the verified email. We never receive or store your password.
Your profile. Name, birth year, sex, height, weight, activity level, your goal (maintain, lose or gain weight), and the resulting daily calorie target. This is health-related information and we treat it as such.
Dietary preferences. Tags you choose such as vegetarian, vegan, no shellfish or no nuts. These can reveal medical or religious characteristics, so we use them only to constrain what the app suggests.
Free-text you write. The "anything else?" note on the cook questionnaire, anything you type into Ask, the description of how you like to cook, what you tell us is already in your kitchen, and any per-sport fueling notes you save ("my consultant says…" — which may repeat advice you were given by a health professional). These are stored and are sent to our AI provider (below) as part of generating your recipes and answers.
Household members. If you add them: their name, age, and the free-text note you write about them, which we explicitly invite you to use for allergies. These people may be children and are not our users. Only add information you have the right to share, and consider using initials rather than full names.
Calendar data. Connecting a calendar is optional; the app works without it. We only ever read calendars — we never create, change or delete an event in them. There are three ways to connect one, and they collect different amounts:
calendar.calendarlist.readonly, to list your calendars so you can pick
which ones to include, and calendar.events.readonly, to read the
titles and times of events in the calendars you picked from
yesterday to 90 days ahead, in order to find gaps to put meals in. We
store the names of your calendars and those events. If you connect Google
without picking any calendar, we read your primary calendar's events for
the days the app is showing. We do not read event locations, attendees,
notes or attachments, and we read no other Google data.Event titles can appear in the plan we generate and are stored with it. We also store what we work out about your recurring events — that "BU9 Academy Central" is a soccer practice for a particular household member, for example — so the app does not have to re-learn it every week.
Google user data. Calendine's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Usage records. The plans we generate, meals you mark as done, the daily calorie ledger, and the recipes generated for you including your thumbs up/down on them.
Operational logs. Our servers log requests — timing, status codes and the account they belong to — so we can find faults. These logs do not contain your recipes, notes or calendar titles.
Reminders. Reminders ("start cooking now", "snack before practice") are scheduled and shown by your own device. We do not operate a push server and we do not receive a device push token.
Our infrastructure. Data is stored in Microsoft Azure in the United States (Central US region), encrypted in transit and at rest by the platform.
Our AI provider. To generate recipes, plans and Ask answers, we send prompts to an LLM gateway operated by Betahub, which forwards them to an underlying model provider. Those prompts contain your name, your calorie targets, your dietary rules, your free-text notes, your household members' details when answering household questions, and calendar event titles and times — the day's events when planning a day, and batches of your recurring event titles when the app is working out which of them are practices, games or school runs. Do not put anything in the free-text fields you are not comfortable sending to an AI provider.
Kroger (only if you use grocery shopping). If you pick a Kroger store in the app, we send the text of your grocery-list items and your chosen store to Kroger's product API to look up matching products and prices; Kroger answers with product details and images that we show you. If you also connect your Kroger account, we store the access grant Kroger gives us and use it only to add the products you choose to your own Kroger cart. We never place an order or make a payment; checkout happens in Kroger's app or website under Kroger's own privacy policy. We do not send Kroger your name, calendar, household or health details. Disconnecting Kroger in Profile deletes the grant.
Nobody else. Beyond the services named above, we do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train models.
We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting your account deletes it. We are still building automated retention limits for older records; until those ship, generated plans and history are retained indefinitely inside your account.
Delete everything. Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, household, plans, recipes, ratings, chat history, saved notes, imported calendar events and calendar connections. It cannot be undone.
Disconnect Kroger at any time from Profile; this deletes the access grant and keeps only your chosen store. You can also remove Calendine from your Kroger account's connected apps on kroger.com.
Disconnect a calendar at any time from Profile without deleting your account; removing a calendar deletes the events we imported from it. If you connected Google Calendar, also remove Calendine from your Google account's third-party access list at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Access to the calendars on your phone can be withdrawn at any time in your device's privacy settings.
Access, correction, export or objection. Email privacy@calendine.ai and we will respond. Export is currently handled manually.
Depending on where you live (for example the UK/EU under GDPR, or California under the CCPA) you may have additional rights, including to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Calendine is not for children. You must be at least 13 to use it, and at least 16 in countries where that is the minimum age for consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children. Information you add about a household member is provided by you as the adult account holder.
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For material changes we will tell you in the app.
